Business of the Year

The Barclays Business of the Year award forms the highlight of the EDP Business Awards ceremony where all shortlisted finalists get the chance to secure the coveted prize.

Barclays has been closely involved with the EDP Business Awards since their launch in 1990, during which time the winners have been drawn from a staggering range of businesses and each highlighting some terrific success stories.

The winner of this category will truly underscore why this region is such an exciting place to do business.

This is the award of awards in the world of Norfolk business. This accolade will go to the winner of winners – picked by the judges and not for separate entry. Judges will look for a brand or organisation which has achieved great things in the last 12 months. They will assess the company’s brand profile within its customer audience, its financial standing, its community relations and its environmental sympathies. Judges will particularly be looking for an organisation that Norfolk can be proud to have as an ambassador of working life in the county.

 Anniversary Celebration

The EDP Business Awards are 25 years old this year and Barclays has been with us right from the start.
To mark the anniversary year Barclays will present a special one-off award selected from the previous winners of the Barclays Business of the Year award.
In what will truly be a night to remember, previous award winners will be among those invited back to this year’s awards as part of the special celebration event.

Winner: Richardsons Leisure

Richardsons impressed judges with its clear strategic vision for the future. The completion of its five year turnaround plan had helped the business secure growth both in turnover and staff numbers and it has ambitious plans to transform its holiday park at Hemsby.

It was a business which had excelled in its all round performance and served as a proud ambassador for Norfolk.

"The EDP Business Awards are a real celebration of all that's great about our businesses here in Norfolk. Each of our categories is a recognition of the strength and depth of our local economy."Ben WoodsEDP Business Editor
